As you can see, there's no need to "kill yourself" (as the OP says) for the ingredients, but it is a satisfying feeling to know that what you have makes it possible for an entire district to receive a reward!

Perhaps he was just in an unfortunate district we sure had fun in ours and what a collection of minis in there
It seems that for far too many people (insert new rope saying here)
That aside thank the devs for a fun event and it was a fun crowd in int 1

I hope that's what it does. Because only one person needs to turn things in, and then everyone else can just afk. I know people won't actually all do that, I'm just saying..shouldn't there be a bit more...like making everyone have to turn in something. Although I know we'd get complainers for that.

I'm wondering how things will progress as the day goes on. I'm at work and will only be able to attend the events later in the day. Since I didn't get to farm a lot of the items I wonder what the chances of getting all the bags/pig will be? At least I know I'll get a hat

Are you saying that 1 AFKer in a district can ruin the entire event? That's a good idea, how?

Erm I meant that you get something for turning it in, better than 1 token, I mean something that makes you want to go out and get those items. Shoulda clarified it more.

I thought this event was quite fun. If I have only 1 complaint, it would be that I was really really REALLY hoping that while wearing the lion mask, if you use the /laugh emote, the lion head's mouth would flap up and down like the real life ones ^^ oh well hehe.

Ok I have the worst luck. My second event and it was yet again a loser district that completed only 2 dishes. Switched districts but it was too late. Damn you elusive pig. I really wish they hadnt based this on relying of others to get something.

We had over 50 people in our district and 10 or so were active. But none of us had ingredients cause we didn't want to go for them again. So we said oh well, I had some left over so gave them but that was about it. Hahaha.
But this time I did have fun, chatting with the 10 or so active people before the event actually started. Some were great company so that as pretty good.
Also Ernada, if I get another pig you can have one of mine.

Actually, you may have more luck later. In the US it's a sunday and most normal people are asleep right now, so I'd suggest waiting for awhile until more people are awake and see how it goes.

What these with ingredients need to do is sell info which dist they are going (like last spanish dist in europa, which probably have plenty of room) for 500g and invite like 30 people. So you can get 15k + mini pig + red gift bags.

Bleh the 1 lunar token per ingrediant was pathetic, I had all the ingrediants and i pretty much got the same reward as everyone else....

Next years Cathan will be a disaster if there is one.
Now that everyone knows that they don't personally have to contribute anything to the chefs and they still get the reward by relying on others - no one will get the ingredients......

I for one had a great time farming for stuff....I had some of those things in my storage and had just done my wintersday cleaning of some of the others (grr).
I had a blast 2 man farming kraken and island guardians. My hubby made a goal of getting one smoking remains for us (after 5 attempts he did indeed fulfill his goal).....I went capping on perdition rock and got my friery crests and one unctuous remains (tons and tons of ribcages, lol).....
It meant that we had to go back to factions and prophecy to do some stuff---got out of elona for a while (and did some mapping as well...)
In the end we did manage to get at least 1 of every item----and some (like naga hides) had tons and tons extras....
and I am very glad that they let the icy lodstones drop from the ice golems---so I did 2 for one....juniper barks and ice golems! It would have been nicer if they had used more stuff from factions (like augmented growths, putrid flesh, jade bracelets, stone horns.......these I have in storage!)...but heck if they do this again next year we know better, right?

Next year will be a new animal year, so it wouldn't make sense to do a feast again. I believe next year will be year of the rat, so we will have a completely different event. That's what I look forward to for these new year events. Every year they will change (I'm assuming that is the case anyway), so every year it's gonna be like getting a new event.

But the mechanism might be the same (ie. each district needing certain things) allowing people to just go afk for hours on end....
I should clarify that I'm talking about the mechanism used here - not the actual dishes etc.
Next year it could be finding parts of a rat trap all over Cantha - idk but same mechanism.
Put it like this - I have been afk and have recieved a good number of pigs.
I would trade them all in for 1 where I had to provide all ingredients myself to get a special reward.
This weekend started out so promising but end mini-pet was waaaay too easy to get by doing absolutely nothing.
I know it's a fun event and all but why should anyone get the exact same award as everyone else for no participation.
